Bruce is  22 years old (1991). He is  black and has not been exposed to UFO lore despite his good educational background. At the moment he is working in government and studying in his spare time at the Harare polytechnic for an Engineering Diploma. His mother is a qualified nurse.

Bruce is unaware of any abduction and quite frankly, I'm not sure that this is what happened to Bruce. However, he is extremely puzzled by the occurrences, as I am, and I report them as told to me.

According to Bruce it happened last year (1989) in November. 
" I came home at about 2100 hours (9:00pm) and there was no-one else in the house; it was particularly quiet. I came straight from the fields, had a bath and went to my room. I put out the light and was just about to doze off when I felt funny. I tried to move my feet, my legs and my hands; but I couldn't. I couldn't move my head either, as I wanted to turn towards the door, as I thought someone was there. There was dense sort of atmosphere, not the usual darkness. I could also hear a strange sound like a dynamo turning very rapidly.  I could not tell how long it lasted, but it felt like a long time. At first I thought it was a ghost, although I could not see nothing. But then the paralysis went away, I felt completely free, and could move. I fell asleep immediately".

"I had this paralysis before, ever since I was a child, but it only happened at night. My mother is a nurse and when I told her, she had me medically checked, but nothing was found to account for my experiences which started when I was about 6 or 7 years old".

On another occasion, during late July 1990, he went to bed quite late. He says: " When I awoke next morning, I wasn't feeling very well. I looked at my skin: I tried to wash it as it was burning so much, especially behind my ears and around my face. Then I went and took a shower and noticed the same thing on my shoulders and arms: My throat was also sore and my eyes were swollen. I couldn't eat all day. Some days later the skin had begun to peel, especially around my eyes where it was rather raw."

Bruce explains that he might not have thought a great deal of this incident except that he had this extremely sore throat. Each time he had had a 'strange' experience, his throat was always sore, something he could not account for.
