Encounter in Mutare

Stuart's story

Stuart is
not sure of the day, he knows it took place between 1987 / 88. He is a
primary school teacher and was 25 / 26 years old at the time of the event.

Stuart explains
that he was coming from the General Hospital in Mutare, walking towards
Florida. It was around 19:00-1930 hours. On the way he had taken a short
cut through an open area where horses are kept, but before he got to the
path that leads to their field he saw this object in the sky about 100m
up. A bluish gray, with a rugby ball shape with spikes on the side (see
diagram). When he looked at it, he could not move or speak. The whole area
seemed silent. Stuart in his letter to Cynthia Hind says: 'I seemed to
be out of myself and it was very frightening. There were green, blue and
a sort of orange-red lights around it which were flashing'.

After sometime
the silence was broken and Stuart was able to move. ' I ran and ran; the
object flew higher up and shot across the sky straight to the west, towards
the Feruka Oil Refinery.

I arrived
home sweating banging the door. I told my wife and work mates and they
believed me. The next afternoon I phoned the local newspaper, the Manica
Post, and they thought it was all a hoax.
